Connecticut Bridge Laser Ablation Pilot Program

In a pilot program for the Connecticut Department of Transportation, Best-Tec performs laser ablation on steel beam ends. The results of this demonstration show that using lasers to remove paint and mitigate corrosion can be drastically more effective than traditional methods, such as sandblasting or needle gun. Laser ablation produces less waste, requires a smaller footprint or lay down area, increases worker safety, and reduces PPE requirements. Note: this project did NOT utilize Induction coating removal, as part of our ICRALA process.
